2AM Releases Remake Of Fukuyama Masaharu's 'Best Love'

On March 15th, 2AM released their remake of Fukuyama Masaharu’s “Best Love“.
The track is part of the Japanese singer-songwriter’s cover/remix album, titled “With Special Guests – Fukuyama Masaharu Remake“, which features Korean guest participants like B2ST. The original track, “最愛,” was used as the theme song for the movie “Suspect X” in 2009. 2AM received the opportunity to recreate it with their own emotional voices to add a more modern touch.
Fukuyama praised, “I think 2AM’s remake is better than the original. They reinterpreted the song very dramatically; it’s excellent.”

Dream High’s Kim Soo Hyun Was Nervous Amongst Idols
“Popularity? You can’t even compare to the past. Just walking around, people recognize me, ‘It’s Song Sam-dong.’ Gaining popularity is good and all, but it’s also scary. I guess I just have to do better than that.”
“At first, it was scary. It seemed like I should just leave [the group]. Amongst a group of idol stars, because I was the odd man out, it was like I didn’t even exist. ‘I could just be buried by them,’ I was worried and felt a lot of burdens. But, that useless and vain worry was quickly broken. They all really opened up to me, and we mutually bonded, and I was accepted into the group. I really liked that we naturally bonded like that. As I’m the same age as Taecyeon and Eun-jung, we were able to become really comfortable without any hesitation, and I also quickly became close to my dongsaengs Suzy, IU, and Woo-young. Though they are all quite young, we got along like old friends. If just one of them would laugh and be excited, we would all start being excited about filming, as though we didn’t know it was hard. The drama is over now, but even now, we all keep in contact and stay close. Between us, we say “We’re one family,’ but I really do get the feeling of family with these friends.”

“I always enjoyed singing with a lot of interest. Before entering the drama, I trained in the JYP practice room for over 3 months. Because I’ve never done dancing before, it was that much harder. In relation to dancing, no one told me anything, but I was becoming disheartened on my own. I was surprised by how daunting it is to perform [dance]. At that time, Taecyeon and Woo-young really helped me a lot. They’re friends I’m really thankful for.”
“It seems like people like ‘Dreaming’ more for the meaning of the song rather than my singing ability. It’s really amazing to me that a lot of people helped me to come out with a song while doing ‘Dream High.’ I had the thought, ‘Ah, so this is what it’s like to be a singer,’ and really liked that feeling. A singer? Doing activities as a ‘singer’ scares me a lot. In the future, as time goes on, I’m not sure how things with turn out. More than becoming a singer, I want to sing for events for the ‘Dream High’ OST and things like that.”
“When I act, I really want to come off as a ‘person.’ It’s that I want to give real feeling in acting. In order to have real-emotion acting, when I have time, I want to have a lot of life experience, because in order to act at that level, life experience is important. I want to become an actor that people have confidence can give good acting and gain support [by doing so]. With ‘Dream High,’ it seems like I gained an excellent stepping stone, so I’m happy. Real-emotion acting and giving that kind of role, with that I could really live happily. In the future, I will try to continue to keep to that quality.”

“Haha, if you’re asking that kind of question, then in spring, I like Eun-jung. In summer, I like Suzy, and in fall, I like IU… I would answer in that way. Now… it’s hard to say, because ‘Dream High’ will be released in Japan, and I have to go to promotions with them and sing with them.. If it’s like that then I probably won’t have any more work coming to me from JYP as a producer… Haha. As it’s like that, I like Miss A the best!”
“It seems that the variety shows would be approaching the ‘real person’ Kim Soo-hyun, not acting. In front of fans, not acting but showing the real Kim Soo-hyun makes me feel uneasy and honestly frightened. I’m still uncertain [about doing variety programs].”
“When I think of that on my own, I think I’m in a vague time. I’m not quite like a little boy, and not like a man either. It feels like I’m at that boundary. I want to do a role that fits this kind of time. Now to me, this adolescent period of not a boy not a man, is the most fascinating. A character that can deliver the highest amount of that kind of charm would be nice.”
“True. I heard that on the outside, the face is young but the voice at first shows some age… Personally, I came into conflicts with that kind of half-n-half feeling but now I like it. Sam-dong also is like that. If you look at it in a way, he was innocent and a little stupid, but at certain moments, he was quite manly.”

The Loveable Couples of Dream High

On February 28th, KBS2 finally broadcasted the last episode of “Dream High.” The chemistry between the couples from the drama made the audiences hearts flutter as they went through the ups and downs in the series.

Jingook (2PM Taecyeon) ♡ Hyemi (Miss A Suzy)
As childhood friends, Jingook and Hyemi went through rough times together. As a hidden child of a chaebol, Jingook was often lonely and alone. It was Hyemi who was always by his side comforting him. There were times where she had surprised him with a birthday cake and presents on Christmas Eve for Jingook, who had no idea when his real birthdate was. These two made everyone hold their breath as viewers watched the cable car kiss scene.

Samdong (Kim Soo Hyun) ♡ Hyemi (Miss A Suzy)
Their bird kiss was a hot issue from the start. While Samdong was furious at Hyemi for various reasons, ranging from lying about her feelings to him and taking care of him as he slowly went deaf, he couldn’t shake off his feelings towards her. He had spat out phrases like “You’re like a pesticide to me” to express how intoxicating she is to him. As a result, this couple earned the nickname “pesticide couple.” Samdong had always felt like a third wheel to Hyemi because of her tight bond with Jingook. However, Samdong starts to see hope as Hyemi started realizing her feelings for him. They share a kiss as Samdong reaches towards Hyemi from outside the bus window.

Jingook (2PM Taecyeon) ♡ Samdong (Kim Soo Hyun)
As with Hyemi, these two fight over everything, even underwear. However, Jingook and Samdong are deeply bonded and probably cannot live without each other. When Jingook was caught up in an assault case, deafened Samdong entered a singing test and scored perfectly to encourage him. The friendship these two friends share is enough to make anyone wish they had a friend like Jingook and Samdong.

Jingook (2PM Taecyeon) ♡ Baekhee (T-ara Eunjung)
These two make the most charismatic couple. Baekee was the one who helped Jingook not lose sight of his dream as he almost had to flee the country for his father’s political election. The two showed great chemistry during their showcase, and Jingook finally stirred up enough courage to pursue his goals. However, both Jingook and Baekhee had their share of hurt and misery, making them the most heart-wrenching couple. What’s more, their love was one-sided as only Baekhee liked Jingook. Viewers were anticipating further development of this couple as Baekhee and Jingook fell into an assault scandal but were left with no further progression.

Hyemi (Miss A Suzy) ♡ Baekhee (T-ara Eunjung)
These two were the best of friends, or so Baekhee thought. Baekhee didn’t seem to mind when Hyemi acted cold towards her or when people called her “Ko Hyemi’s sseraeppa.” Sseraeppa means slippers in Korean, and the nickname indicates how others saw Baekhee as her personal assistant – wherever Hyemi goes, Baehee goes. As Hyemi continues to press Baekhee’s buttons, she finally explodes and decides to take revenge. However, as Hyemi goes through a tough period, “dark Baekhee” sees her mistake and returns to the good friend she used to be. As Baekhee goes to the police station to set the record straight between the true story about Jingook’s assault, Hyemi supports her by singing “A Goose’s Dream.” The two developed a strong friendship throughout the series.

Jason (2PM Wooyoung) ♡ Pilsook (IU)
They started off as two strangers who met at an audition. At the time, Pilsook was an overweight student who dreamed of becoming a star, and Jason was just a courteous somebody who helped her. However, eight months later, Pilsook reappeared as a cute and loveable, 66 pounds slimmer, girl. The two hid their feelings for each other, all the while flirting with other men and women. After confirming each other’s feelings, just looking at each other made the world rosey. Pilsook takes charge of the relationship as she makes the first move to kiss Jason. In the end, Pilsook gains back her weight but continues to enjoy life as she grows her love with Jason and runs a kindergarten that has a play on words to IU’s name.

Hyemi’s younger sister, Hyesung, has a crush on Jingook. Hyesung is the only character in the drama to call Jingook “oppa,” which has another connotation in Korean. Jingook also takes care of Hyesung like a younger sister, often bringing her sweets and snacks. The two have had many adorable moments securing their place as the cutest couple in the drama. As Jingook developed into a top Korean hallyu star, Hyesung became a lovable high school student.

Hyemi (Miss A Suzy) ♡ Pilsook (IU)
Hymei has always been there for Pilsook. Whenever Pilsook felt confused about her feelings for the kind Jason, Hyemi was by her side to comfort and console her. While there were times Hyemi felt a bit annoyed with Pilsook’s never ending troubles, she was always there for her. They continued to blossom their friendship as both faced new changes in their lives.
