[NEWS] Kim Woo Bin Shares His Experience Behind The Scenes of Heirs

Posted by storyaboutagirl at 4:53 PM 0 comments
Hi, Sisters ~ I am Kim Woo Bin.

Did you watch the last episode of Heirs? I was lonely because Tan and Eun Sang were happy, and I was happy because my mother came back, and I was bored because Myung Soo entered the military.

I think the meaning of Heirs is like, "You came to me and became a flower" (an expression from Kim Chun Su’s poem "Flower"). I was recognized and loved a lot by many people through Heirs so that I could meaningfully exist. The tears were about to come during the last shooting.

Above all, the sense of loss that I had to let go of Young Do was the biggest feeling of mine. Did the same happen to you? So I am telling the story about the last shooting for someone who can’t let Young Do go. I will call this ‘Behind the scenes story of the last airing.’ I will get back at you if you don’t read it.

On the morning of December 11th, the last shooting of Heirs finally started. I went there with a heavier heart than ever before. I don’t know if the weather knew my heart of not; it snowed during the night. It caused me to take pictures.

The scene I shot on this day was the story of Heirs ten years from now. There was a party at Tan’s House. Actually, I was worried a little bit. I wasn’t sure how to draw Young Do ten years later. However, whether ten years pass or not, Young Do is best when he is drawn true to himself.

Why did it snow so much? It made me so excited.
The Heirs’ staff also arrived.
[attachment:2]C:\fakepath\YD2.jpg[/attachment]
Finally, I reached the set. I was ready to start shooting. How could I be absent from Kim Tan’s party? I became ‘Kkan Young Do.’ I had a fringe of curls and exposed my forehead. I also wore a simple suit. The focus was bling-bling accessories. Before starting to shoot, I relaxed by making small talk with the staff. To tell the truth, until this moment I couldn't believe it was really the last time. My gladness was bigger than my sense of loss, because all the cast gathered at the same site.

I am going to shoot with brother Won.
My heart flutters!
I am starting to shoot.
The set was busy. All the staff and cast gathered. I was holding a script and going to brother Jin Hyuk. We practiced together. I hid my sadness by joking and kidding more than before. I memorized my line till the end over and over. Young Do’s gooey tone doesn’t come out easily. My line was, “How can you put your finger on it? Now I want to be even better.“ It was short but I practiced with changing tones because of the concept ’10 years later.’

“Want to be even better ↗" or "Want to be even better↘”

“Brother, Won has such a perfect visual." (see pic WB and JH above)
“Choi Young Do is ready.”
My new nickname was born while I starred in Heirs. People call me ‘Salinity 염도 Youm Do' (Young Do was famous as a character that had a smell of tears in Korea). Many scenes when he held back his tears made people feel sorry for Young Do but I smile brightly in last shooing at least. Young Do can’t have one more nickname, ‘Smile Young Do 미도 (Mi-So Young Do), can he?

"Brother Won, stop making me laugh~"

"Today, I am Smile (미소 Mi-so) Young Do”
"Forget about Salinity (염도 Youm Do)"
I met really nice people through this drama. I could build up relationships with Brother Min Ho, Brother Jin Hyuk and Min Hyuk. The set changed to our chatter room. We spent every free moment talking.

Doesn’t the reason that Heirs is so popular come from this good team work? We bore the weight of popularity by relying on each other. Do you want to know what these four men in suits talked about? It was a bittersweet story.

“Are we so handsome?” (Kim Woo Bin)

“That is my tone~!” (Lee Min Ho)
“Why did you return a shot like this? It made me so excited”
“We are done now? I am so sorry for it ~”

Yes, yes. All of the scenes were done. We shouted ‘Thank you everyone for your hard work!’ after a director’s ‘cut’ sign. That was the same greeting I had done before, but this day, it was different. The tears were really about to come out like Young Do’s line ‘I couldn’t stop tears falling out of my eyes!’

We really felt miss to just go back home so we took pictures that show us that we were here together, and shared memories. When will we meet again? As brother Min Ho’s, let’s meet together on the last day of this year. I am going to be an MC of SBS’ Acting awards.

"Team Heirs, endure the weight of being awarded prizes. I will get back at you guys if you won’t come!”

"Everybody did good job."

"Goodbye Young Do~"
Thanks so much for your love that you've given to Heirs. Thank you again for loving and caring for bad Young Do. I will be back with a good drama soon. Be careful not to catch a cold, and have a happy holiday and New Year. What? Don’t you let me go like this? So I prepared these~!

Great releaser of Kim Woo Bin’s pictures!

“Look at him. No wonder you’re into him?”
“He is just too tall~”

Then, these are paparazzi shots as if a camera didn’t take his pictures.

"To Looks indifferent and chic."

"Are you taking my pictures? Arent' you?"
"I will meet you on the last day of this year."

[NEWS] MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2013

Posted by storyaboutagirl at 8:52 PM 0 comments
The name EXO is derived from EXOPLANET, a term denoting planets outside of the Solar System. The 12-member group, which formed in 2011, is separated into two subgroups at the onset - EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin), and was created with a great aspiration to captivate audiences all around the world starting from Korea and China.

EXO-K and EXO-M released their first singles “MAMA” and “History” in both Korean and Mandarin in March and April on the same dates and times last year, debuting in Korea and China simultaneously. Since last year, EXO won several newcomer awards, including the “Best New Asian Artist Group”. Notably, EXO-M received the “Most Popular Band”, “Most Popular Group” and “Best Dressed” at Top Chinese Music Awards 2013. EXO-M also received the “Popularity Award” at the 13th Annual Billboard Music Festival.

In June this year, EXO released their first official album XOXO, with lead single “Wolf” where all 12 members appeared on stage and produced an exhilarating visualization and jaw-grabbing performance. “Wolf” has since sold a million copies worldwide and is also EXO’s first number one song in Korea and their first song to hit a triple crown across all three of Korea’s major free-to-air broadcast stations.

[12 Days of 2012] Top 5 Male Idol Groups

Posted by storyaboutagirl at 5:32 PM 0 comments
Although we’re looking forward to what 2013 has in store, we can’t close out 2012 without looking back on the stars, dramas, movies and more that shined this year, so we’re launching a new series here at enewsWorld, called 12 Days of 2012, to round up and reflect on one exciting year in Korean entertainment.

We′re delving into the year in music today, and who better to kick things off than the small armies of men who dominated the K-Pop scene!

B.A.P

One of the most formidable rookies of the year, B.A.P showed no mercy in 2012, proving to be the ‘Best, Absolute, Perfect’ on all fronts in the K-Pop world, releasing a steady string of hits since its debut.

Within 2012 alone, the group pumped out songs Warrior, Secret Love, Power, No Mercy, Crash and Stop It (still with us?), all showing off the boys’ various charms.

It’s hard to believe the boys are only approaching their one-year anniversary, as they’ve been popping up all over the world, from Los Angeles to the German music charts and Europe at large.

Infinite

From sweeping music programs with number one hit The Chaser to the members battling it out in their own variety show, Infinite’s Rank King, on Mnet, we could barely keep up with idol group Infinite this year.

So, we’re sure Infinite barely had a moment to catch their breath, as the boys not only left their mark in Korea, they took on Japan, topping the Oricon chart, touring the country and even going 3D.

How the members had the time to venture into solo activities, from Hoya appearing in hit tvN drama Reply 1997 to Sung Kyu releasing a solo album, we’ll never know.

Shinhwa

Newer idol groups may have had a standout year, but veteran boy band Shinhwa beat the odds and made a huge comeback, fit for the history books, in 2012.

Shinhwa came back full force with the members not only tackling the K-Pop world with chart topper Venus, but putting each other on blast on their own billboard variety show Shinhwa Broadcast.

The Shinhwa members showed the younger male idol groups how the men do it but made sure to remind us that they’re still kids at heart, proving that Shinhwa never gets old.

Big Bang

You don’t need us to remind you what a huge year 2012 was for Big Bang, but after ending 2011 on somewhat of a rough patch, we witnessed the members come back to life with fifth mini album Alive before driving the point home even harder that it was here to stay with special edition album Still Alive.

Chart topping songs and sold out concerts worldwide are a given at this point. But getting the members’ faces plastered on an airplane? That was new.

Simply put, we were all just living in Big Bang’s world in 2012.

Super Junior

A little competition didn’t faze Super Junior, as the mega idol group, when it wasn’t pumping out hits of its own, was taking its sold out Super Show 4 across Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Despite the members playing musical chairs throughout the year with Kangin rejoining the group for its Sexy, Free & Single and Spy promotions after completing his mandatory military duties to leader Leeteuk’s departure for the army in October, the boys didn’t miss a beat and remained at the top for most of 2012.

Super Junior unsurprisingly stole the show in 2012.

[MAMA Highlights] Why Being ‘Sexy, Free & Single’ was Awesome for Super Junior in 2012

Posted by storyaboutagirl at 5:29 PM 0 comments
Super Junior kept itself quite busy in 2012 with several members challenging themselves to try out the acting and variety worlds, but the group always remembered to return to its first calling as singers.

In 2012, Super Junior gave birth to Sexy, Free & Single, telling the music world that being completely single is completely fine.

With its catchy beats and memorable lyrics, Sexy, Free & Single received much love from its listeners. As soon as the album came out, it started climbing up the iTunes charts all around the world, from France to Mexico, proving their popularity is not limited to just Korea - a good reason why Super Junior won Best Global Group - Male.

The album also swept through the Korean album charts, blowing away all competition, as well as Taiwan’s KKBOX’s Korean Music TOP 100 chart, allowing Super Junior to continue reigning over the charts for 110 consecutive weeks.

The album ranked high on Japan’s Oricon Chart, even being certified Gold, selling well over 100,000 copies – a feat that is hard to come by in the current music market.

In addition to all of the success in album sales, after making its Mnet M Countdown comeback on July 5, Super Junior didn’t take too long to make its newest hit song a triple crown winner, which the group celebrated on July 28 by ripping off Leeteuk’s shirt.

Not only was the main track worthy of being added to everyone′s summer playlist, the album was also filled with other songs worth listening to. One of these songs was From U, which was spotlighted as a song that the Super Junior members made specifically for its ELF fanclub.

The popularity of Sexy, Free & Single continued with its music video gaining more than a million views just 11 hours after its release. The music video now has over 17 million views and is still going strong.

The same kind of success was brought on the group, when it released the repackaged album Spy. The group not only introduced its follow-up song but also proved that they were challenging themselves musically by composing and penning the lyrics to several of the songs included in the album.

And finally, on November 30 in Hong Kong, at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Super Junior won Album of the Year, wrapping up the album′s success with a bang.

[Review] 2012 Asia Super Showcase In Malaysia

Posted by storyaboutagirl at 12:49 PM 0 comments

Malaysian ELF had the time of their lives at the “2012 Asia Super Showcase in Malaysia“. The concert attracted around 8000 fans to the concert venue, Kenanga Wholesale City Mall on the 11th of December 2012. Fans were already fanchanting to Super Junior-M’s music videos being played before the concert started.

The Asia Super Showcase also featured 2 of 2012’s rookies as guest artists, BtoB and EXO-M. Kickstarting the show, BtoB put up an amazing performance of  7 songs, including ‘Insane’, ‘Irresistible Lips’ and ‘Wow’, Despite having a little technical error at the end of one of their songs, Btob still continued performing until the end without audio. Members of BtoB said Malaysia was a beautiful country and leader Eunkwang mention that he was so happy that the response for them in Malaysia was great. Member Peniel also added that BtoB would definitely come back again, not just to perform but to also explore and enjoy Malaysia’s sceneries.

Next up was SM’s new boy group, EXO-M, who undoubtly already had large following in Malaysia despite only debuting for 8 months. EXO-M showcased a flawless performance of ‘History’ before serenading the fans with ‘Angel’. Malaysian EXO fans also got to experience the rarely performed ‘What Is Love’, a song only performed twice ever since EXO’s debut.  Member Lay complimented Malaysians for being able to understand so many languages and said he was very impressed. The boys ended their segment with a powerful performance of their hit song ‘MAMA’ before handing over the stage to Super Junior M.

Fans were already more than hyped up for Super Junior-M, who finally appeared on stage for their first song ‘Super Girl’. Malaysian ELF lighted up the concert venue, a dazzling Pearl Sapphire Blue, with the Super Junior official fancolor lightsticks.

Members Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Sungmin, Donghae, Zhoumi, Henry and Ryeowook, greeted the fans in Chinese and Malay and also didn’t fail to mention how much they missed Malaysian ELF. Unfortunately, member Siwon was unable to come due to clash of filming schedules in Korea, but he prepared a video message for the fans!

The energy from the sea of fans was escalating with every song Super Junior-M performed, including ‘ At least I have you’, ‘Love doesn’t come alone’, ’Lost’ and ‘Destiny’.

Well known as entertainment idols, Super Junior-M did not fail to impress with their never-ending fanservice, showering their fans with love and hearts. The host tested the members on their general knowledge of Malaysia by playing a game of ‘Guess the fruit’, causing much laughter from the crowd.

The night ended with ‘Too Perfect’, which was exactly the correct word to summarize the night. Super Junior-M went to the corners of the stage before bowing and thanking all the fans that came to see them. Member Henry even came running out with the Malaysian flag!

Korea.com would like to thank organizer Marctensia for the invitation to review the concert!

Netizens commented, “What a lucky child, so jealous!,” “I’m pretending I’m the child.. pretending..,” and“Why am I jealous of that child?“ Other fans praised the way he handled the child by commenting, “Jaejoong is a good potential father,” and “I can feel his caring father force~”
He certainly looks like he’ll be a great uncle to that child!

Dream High With Teaser!

Posted by storyaboutagirl at 8:36 PM 0 comments
KBS2TV’s upcoming drama, “Dream High“, has gained a considerable amount of interest due to its A-list cast. But because the show revolves around idol members, coordinating schedules has becoming a nightmare for the drama’s production team.

2PM’s Taecyeon and Wooyoung, miss A’s Suzy, T-ara’s Eunjung and IU are among the top idol stars in the nation at the moment. Consequently, their schedules are jam-packed with promotions, interviews, and other engagements that accompany their high-fluted status.

It’s led the drama coordinators to lament that trying to match up the differing schedules is like trying to pick a star from the sky.

KBS’s chief drama producer, Ko Ki Won expressed, “They are some of the most popular idols around now, and are very busy people. It’s very difficult to arrange a suitable filming time, where we can get at least 3 idol stars on camera. Each time, we would be faced with a situation where one of them would be unable to make it. Some of them are making their comebacks, while others need to travel overseas for promotions – it’s a very ardous task to coordinate schedules.”

Taecyeon and Wooyoung have to manage their Japanese promotions with 2PM, as the group just released a new album there. Suzy must balance her overseas schedules with miss A as well, while IU and Eunjung are currently in the midst of their comeback promotions.

It’s a frustrating task for both the drama coordinators and the idols, but regardless, production for the drama appears to be chugging along.

Check out the latest subbed preview for “Dream High”, and let’s hope that things smooth out for the cast and staff on board.

The 2009 drama came to an end with the shooting of Lee Byung Hun’s character, ‘Kim Hyun Joon,’ and left viewers blind to the identity of his shooter. The “IRIS” series was recently re-delivered in a 2-hour film version, which held concise cuts of scenes from the drama’s 20 episodes. In a shocking twist, Kim So Yeon’s character, ‘Kim Sun Hwa,’ was revealed to be the sniper.

Sun Hwa was a member of ‘IRIS,’ a secret worldwide organization aimed at keeping status quo between warring nations. She was revealed to be working under North Korean rogue general, ‘Yeon Ki Hoon’ (played by Choi Jong Hwan ) who also belonged to ‘IRIS’. The theater version of the story was edited so that ‘Yeon Ki Hoon’ had survived, although he was killed in the actual drama. Sun Hwa’s affections for Hyun Joon in the drama was played up to be a sort of act in the film version.

Kim So Yeon’s continued appearance in the spin-off drama, “Athena“, has spotlighted further attention on her identity as Lee Byung Hun’s killer, since she is now a character that holds the key that has turned the story in a totally different direction.

Representatives of “Athena” had previously stated that Kim Sun Hwa would connect “IRIS” and “Athena,” making viewers wonder how her identity in “IRIS” would be explained in “Athena.” Park Cheol Young (played by Kim Seung Woo), was also killed in the film version, but he is expected to be making a special appearance in “Athena,” further adding curiosity to the overall plot.

The IRIS spin-off, “Athena” will debut though SBS from December 13th.

ahhh... i hate to see this~ after watching IRIS 20 episodes and make me cried why they revealed her as the killer?! why? why? why?!

Song Joong Ki
and Yoo Ah In from KBS 2TV’s “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” have been nominated for the ‘Best Couple Award’ at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards.

The two played the roles of ‘Yeorim’ and ‘Geol Oh’, which received massive support from fans of the drama as the representative ‘male couple.’ One scene in particular even created a ‘gay scandal’ between the two. Yeorim, who observed Geol Oh putting his life on the line in order to find the person who wrote the fake handbill, tearfully made the following outburst:”What does that make me, the person by your side? Fine, live as you want and get out of my sight.”

Although both actors and producers clarified the scene to be an expression of their deep friendship, it seems as if viewers took it differently, landing the two a nomination for the awards show.

A representative of KBS’s variety team revealed, “Due to the aggressive recommendations and support the press corps have shown, we were able to confidently put the ‘Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In’ couple as nominations for the ‘Best Couple Award’. We predict that they will receive just as many user votes as the other hetero couples in the viewers votes.”

Even though the couple is said to be ‘just friends’, if the two should win the award, it would prove to be a great step towards a positive reception of the queer community in Korea!

Stay tuned to allkpop for the results of the “2010 KBS Drama Awards”, scheduled to be broadcasted on December 31st.
