Synopsis

Having once done time behind bars, CHA Tae-sik now leads a quiet life. His only connection to the rest of the world is a little girl, So-mi, who lives nearby. So-mi’s mother, Hyo-jeong, smuggles drugs for a drug trafficking organization and entrusts Tae-sik with the product. When the traffickers find out they kidnap both Hyo-jeong and So-mi. Mistaking Tae-sik for another mule, the brothers that lead the gang—Man-sik and Jong-sik—promise to release Hyo-jeong and So-mi if Tae-sik makes a delivery for them.

Tae-sik makes the decision to face the outside world in order to rescue So-mi. However, the delivery was part of a larger plot to eliminate a rival drug ring leader, Mr. Oh, and Tae-sik is arrested. At the same time, Hyo-jeong’s disemboweled body is discovered, and Tae-sik realizes that So-mi’s life may also be in danger.

He fights off half a dozen detectives and escapes from the police station. Now on the run, Tae-sik pursues Man-sik and Jong-sik. In the process, he discovers that their drug ring operates around kidnapped children. Stumbling upon a factory where the brothers have children’s organs removed to accommodate the drugs, Tae-sik rescues one child just before surgery and becomes enraged at the prospect So-mi may already be dead.

Tae-sik prepares for a battle with Man-sik and Jong-sik, putting his own life at risk…

The Loveable Couples of Dream High

On February 28^th, KBS2 finally broadcasted the last episode of “Dream High.” The chemistry between the couples from the drama made the audiences hearts flutter as they went through the ups and downs in the series.


Jingook (2PM Taecyeon) ♡ Hyemi (Miss A Suzy)

As childhood friends, Jingook and Hyemi went through rough times together. As a hidden child of a chaebol, Jingook was often lonely and alone. It was Hyemi who was always by his side comforting him. There were times where she had surprised him with a birthday cake and presents on Christmas Eve for Jingook, who had no idea when his real birthdate was. These two made everyone hold their breath as viewers watched the cable car kiss scene.

Samdong (Kim Soo Hyun) ♡ Hyemi (Miss A Suzy)

Their bird kiss was a hot issue from the start. While Samdong was furious at Hyemi for various reasons, ranging from lying about her feelings to him and taking care of him as he slowly went deaf, he couldn’t shake off his feelings towards her. He had spat out phrases like “You’re like a pesticide to me” to express how intoxicating she is to him. As a result, this couple earned the nickname “pesticide couple.” Samdong had always felt like a third wheel to Hyemi because of her tight bond with Jingook. However, Samdong starts to see hope as Hyemi started realizing her feelings for him. They share a kiss as Samdong reaches towards Hyemi from outside the bus window.

Jingook (2PM Taecyeon) ♡ Samdong (Kim Soo Hyun)

As with Hyemi, these two fight over everything, even underwear. However, Jingook and Samdong are deeply bonded and probably cannot live without each other. When Jingook was caught up in an assault case, deafened Samdong entered a singing test and scored perfectly to encourage him. The friendship these two friends share is enough to make anyone wish they had a friend like Jingook and Samdong.

Jingook (2PM Taecyeon) ♡ Baekhee (T-ara Eunjung)

These two make the most charismatic couple. Baekee was the one who helped Jingook not lose sight of his dream as he almost had to flee the country for his father’s political election. The two showed great chemistry during their showcase, and Jingook finally stirred up enough courage to pursue his goals. However, both Jingook and Baekhee had their share of hurt and misery, making them the most heart-wrenching couple. What’s more, their love was one-sided as only Baekhee liked Jingook. Viewers were anticipating further development of this couple as Baekhee and Jingook fell into an assault scandal but were left with no further progression.

Hyemi (Miss A Suzy) ♡ Baekhee (T-ara Eunjung)

These two were the best of friends, or so Baekhee thought. Baekhee didn’t seem to mind when Hyemi acted cold towards her or when people called her “Ko Hyemi’s sseraeppa.” Sseraeppa means slippers in Korean, and the nickname indicates how others saw Baekhee as her personal assistant – wherever Hyemi goes, Baehee goes. As Hyemi continues to press Baekhee’s buttons, she finally explodes and decides to take revenge. However, as Hyemi goes through a tough period, “dark Baekhee” sees her mistake and returns to the good friend she used to be. As Baekhee goes to the police station to set the record straight between the true story about Jingook’s assault, Hyemi supports her by singing “A Goose’s Dream.” The two developed a strong friendship throughout the series.

Jason (2PM Wooyoung) ♡ Pilsook (IU)

They started off as two strangers who met at an audition. At the time, Pilsook was an overweight student who dreamed of becoming a star, and Jason was just a courteous somebody who helped her. However, eight months later, Pilsook reappeared as a cute and loveable, 66 pounds slimmer, girl. The two hid their feelings for each other, all the while flirting with other men and women. After confirming each other’s feelings, just looking at each other made the world rosey. Pilsook takes charge of the relationship as she makes the first move to kiss Jason. In the end, Pilsook gains back her weight but continues to enjoy life as she grows her love with Jason and runs a kindergarten that has a play on words to IU’s name.

Hyemi’s younger sister, Hyesung, has a crush on Jingook. Hyesung is the only character in the drama to call Jingook “oppa,” which has another connotation in Korean. Jingook also takes care of Hyesung like a younger sister, often bringing her sweets and snacks. The two have had many adorable moments securing their place as the cutest couple in the drama. As Jingook developed into a top Korean hallyu star, Hyesung became a lovable high school student.


Hyemi (Miss A Suzy) ♡ Pilsook (IU)

Hymei has always been there for Pilsook. Whenever Pilsook felt confused about her feelings for the kind Jason, Hyemi was by her side to comfort and console her. While there were times Hyemi felt a bit annoyed with Pilsook’s never ending troubles, she was always there for her. They continued to blossom their friendship as both faced new changes in their lives.

KBS Airs "Dream High" Special Concert!

The 16-episode KBS drama, “Dream High“, might have come to a conclusion last night, but the party ain’t over yet as KBS aired a special concert tonight to wrap up the whole series.

On February 24th, the cast of the popular drama came together to perform on stage for the ‘Dream High Special Concert‘, held at a location right off of Seoul.

The cast members, including miss A’s Suzy, 2PM’s Taecyeon and Wooyoung, T-ara’s Eunjung, IU, Kim Soo Hyun, and more, delighted the crowd by performing various musical acts.

Kim Tae Woo and Park Kyung Lim acted as the MCs of the event.

Besides the performances from the concert, special behind-the-scenes videos were also revealed, and the “Dream High” staff also gave out their ‘Grand Prix’ awards, with the categories being ‘Precious Kkap’, ‘King of NG’s’, ‘Hard Worker’, and ‘Hurricane Tears’.

The cast performed almost everything from the drama’s soundtrack, including showcasing new versions of character-specific songs, entertaining the crowd with their talents.

"Dream High" Airs Its Final Episode + Who Is Singer ‘K’?

KBS2TV’s “Dream High” aired its final episode on February 28th, and the fate of the beloved ‘Kirin Arts High School’ students were finally revealed!

The series finale had fast-forwarded to the year 2018. First off, the mysterious ‘K‘ (whose stage introduction kicked off the show) was revealed to be none other than ‘Sam Dong‘ (Kim Soo Hyun)!

The star had successfully auditioned for EMG, but almost missed his chance because he wanted to stay with ‘Hye Mi‘ (miss A’s Suzy). An emotional scene took place between Sam Dong and Hye Mi, during which Sam Dong revealed, “I didn’t audition because I wanted to go to America. It was because of you and that was all. You’ve always been my music, and my music is still you. That is why I was able to come this far. Music doesn’t exist if you’re not there“.

But Hye Mi encouraged him to keep running towards his dream. “Don’t you remember saying to me that you were going to be so handsome and accomplished that I wouldn’t even worry about you? Well I’m still worried about you. So if this is the end, I’ll keep worrying. So become better“.

Ultimately, Sam Dong did go to the U.S., and debuted under the stage name ‘K’. He became an international star, and was even becoming nominated for a Grammy Award.

As for Sam Dong’s first love,she performed at her 100th concert, with her friends and family supporting her. She also dedicated her first song to ‘Sam Dong’, finally revealing her feelings for him.

‘Jin Guk‘ (Taecyeon) debuted under the name ‘Hyun Si Hyuk‘, and became a hot star whose presence was always declared by the horde of media surrounding him. ‘Baek Hee’ (T-ara’s Eunjung) became a teacher at Kirin Arts High School, and it’s noted that she resembled her former teacher, Lee Yoon Ji, in both appearance and teaching style.

The ‘Milky Couple’ maintained their love, as Pilsook (IU) and Jason (Wooyoung) were shown interacting affectionately. IU became a kindergarten teacher, and decided to use her musical talents to lull her class children to sleep.

Additionally, the Oh Hyuk (Um Ki Joon) and Kyung Jin (Lee Yoon Ji) couple, as well as the Doo Shik (Ahn Kil Kang) and Oh Sun (Ahn Sun Young) couple both got married, revealing happy endings for all.

Viewers were mostly satisfied with the happy ending, as they commented, “The drama didn’t end satisfyingly. I want more!“, “Our dreams grew along with the drama. It was heartwarming“, “I was sad that the ending was too abrupt“, “Make a season 2!“.

“Dream High” truly demonstrated the importance of ‘dreaming high’, as all the characters thought that fulfilling their dreams was impossible at first. But they kept at it, and finally got to live happily in the end.

[Spoiler: Dream High] Kim Soo Hyun Performs "Dreaming"

On the February 15th episode of “Dream High,” ‘Sam Dong’ made everyone’s hearts flutter when he performed his emotive song, “Dreaming” .

After his hearing became damaged, Sam Dong faced the possibility of losing his dreams. He eventually decided that a perfect pitch would be his only hope, and so he goes to ‘Pil Sook’ for help.

Pil Sook advised, “Memorize one pitch and make your vocal cords remember it,” and “Since you have excellent relative pitch, all you need to do is focus on the rest and it will all work out“. In order to fully test his pitch, Sam Dong teams up with Pil Sook to perform Jinwoon & Changmin’s duet, “Can’t I Love You?“.

His excellent performance earns him an A+ grade, and he later goes on to perform “Dreaming” at his showcase.

Impressed viewers left high praises on the viewer board: “So touched by Kim Soo Hyun’s vocals!,” “Sam Dong cried, and so did I. Daebak touched!,” and “Acting, singing, there’s nothing that he can’t do.”

The episode achieved 20.1% in viewer ratings, according to AGB Nielsen Media Research.

Behind The Scenes On Sungkyunkwan Scandal

It’s totally entertaining to see the onscreen camaraderie building between the four leads of KBS’s Sungkyunkwan Scandal, so it’s like icing on the cake to see that good-natured fun exists behind the scenes as well. In fact, before the drama began airing the four actors — Micky Yoochun, Park Min-young, Song Joong-ki, and Yoo Ah-in — stated that they all got along fabulously offscreen. Looks like it.

The drama recently released the following photos of its main quartet of kkot seonbis (pretty-boy Confucian scholars), also known as the Jalgeum quartet or Jalgeum F4. These photos were taken on the filming location in Yeongam-gun in south Jeolla province, in between filming, monitoring each other’s performances, and script rehearsing. Those of you who’ve seen through the latest episodes will no doubt recognize the scenes that were being shot when these were snapped.

Synopsis

Koizora tells the story of Mika, living a simple school girl's life until one day, when she loses her phone in the library. It is soon discovered that her phone was recovered by a boy named Sakurai Hiroki, who first communicates with Mika through her phone, until the day they finally meet when Hiro returns Mika her phone. From then on, a friendship turned to a romantic relationship, but hardships like rape and disagreement meet the couple along the way. And then, Hiro breaks up with Mika. What actually happened? Does Hiro have a reason for still following after Mika even after breaking up with her? Koizora is a tear jerking movie that will let many realize the true meaning of love.

Baker King Ends As The King Of Ratings

KBS hit drama Baker King / Kim Tak Goo aired it’s final episode on September 16th to amazing ratings. Since the show’s inception, the drama has been consistently hitting the 30 – 40% mark in terms of viewership ratings but failed to break the coveted 50% mark.

The TNMS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) released their numbers earlier today and the final episode of Baker King received a 50.8% rating which broke the coveted 50% mark. In addition, the September 15th episode achieved a rating of 46.5%.

With Baker King ending, dramas suffering from low ratings such as Playful Kiss hope to turn things around. Congratulations to Baker King for hitting the 50% mark, it was well deserved.
